OUR MISSION

Spiritual
Formation

Deepening relationships with Christ through retreats, spiritual direction, and prayer.

Legionaries of Christ are passionate about walking with people as they develop in their relationship with Jesus Christ and accompanying them as they discover and live their God-given mission as apostles and Christian leaders, impacting the world around them. We form ourselves to be able to listen to and know the human heart in order to help others be challenged by the Word of God.

The lives of all apostles start with a deep relationship with Christ. To help people develop this, Legionaries invest themselves in preaching retreats, giving spiritual direction, and providing Catholic formation to men, women, and youth.

Spiritual Exercises
Retreats

What is it like to go on a retreat preached by a  Legionary of Christ? In this video, young men share their experiences after participating in a silent weekend retreat.

There is no greater joy than accompanying a soul as it discovers the risen Christ.

(from Christus Vita Vestra: Ratio Institutionis of the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ)

There is no greater joy than accompanying a soul as it discovers the risen Christ.

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction is a long-standing tradition in the Catholic Church. The average of 13 years that Legionaries spend in formation before ordination prepares them for this transformative area of ministry.

Legionaries accompany and form people who wish to grow in their faith and put their talents at the service of Christ in the Church, teaching each one of them the art of prayer. We are also there to help them discern and envision their apostolic vocation according to their gifts, qualities, and personal inspirations.

Preaching Jesus Christ

Preaching from experience allows us to speak of Jesus from the heart. We know Christ and share Christ. We are called as priests to be bearers of the Word of God for others, a realization which is a constant stimulus for our own personal, daily, and transforming contact with Scripture.
