the world
The North American Territory of the Legionaries of Christ consists of the United States, Canada, South Korea, and the Philippines. The Legionaries in the Manila, Philippines community also serve the Regnum Christi members in Australia and New Zealand.
United States
The Legionaries of Christ were established in the United States in 1965. There are currently 185 Legionary priests, deacons, and seminarians in the United States as of December 31, 2024.
We have communities in Arlington, Atlanta, Cheshire, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Rolling Prairie, San Jose, and Washington DC.
We are entrusted with parishes in Cumming, Georgia; Yonkers, New York; Raleigh, North Carolina and Houston, Texas.
Legionaries serve as college chaplains at Benedictine College, Duke University, the University of North Carolina, Florida Tech, Georgia Tech, and Divine Mercy University.
Canada
The Legionaries of Christ were established in Canada in 1995. There are currently 9 Legionaries in Canada.
We have communities in Oakville, Ontario, and Calgary, Alberta. We are entrusted with Ascension Parish in Calgary.
South Korea
The Legionaries of Christ were established in South Korea in 2006. There are currently 5 Legionaries in our community in Seoul.
The Philippines
The community of the Legionaries of Christ was established in Manila, the Philippines, in 2006, where 8 Legionaries currently reside.
Legionaries serve as chaplains at three Regnum Christi schools in Manila, as well as at De la Salle University and the Ateneo de Manila University.
The Legionaries in our Manila community also serve the Regnum Christi members in Australia and New Zealand.
Territory of Europe
There are currently 63 Legionaries of Christ priests, deacons, and seminarians in the Territory of Europe as of December 31, 2024.
We have communities in Paris, Bordeaux, Dublin, Vienna, Budapest, Bad Munstereifel, Dusseldorf, Konigstein iT, Neuotting-Alzgern and Krakow.
Territory of Italy
There are currently 53 Legionaries of Christ priests, and seminarians living and working apostolically in the Territory of Italy, apart from the Legionaries at the International College of the Legionaries of Christ and the General Directorate in Rome, who are part of the Rome Delegation.
We have communities in Rome, Padua, Verona, Milan, Asti, Florence, Palermo, and Catania.
Territory of Columbia - Venezuela
There are currently 72 Legionaries of Christ priests, deacons, and seminarians in the Territory of Colombia-Venezuela.
We have communities in Antioqia, Merida, Bogota, Medellin, Caracas and Barquisimeto.
Territory of Chile - Argentina
There are currently 56 Legionaries of Christ priests, deacons, and seminarians in the Territory of Chile-Argentina.
We have communities in Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, and Salta
Territory of Spain
There are currently 77 Legionaries of Christ priests, deacons, and seminarians in the Territory of Spain as of December 31, 2023.
We have communities in Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, and Sevilla.
Territory of Southern Mexico and Central America
There are currently 251 Legionaries of Christ priests, deacons, and seminarians in the Territory of Southern Mexico and Central America.
We have communities in Mexico City, Queretaro, Pachuca, Puebla, Toluca, Morelia, Cotija, Cuernavaca, Acapulco, Veracruz, Xalapa, Cordoba, Orizaba, Tapachula, Tuxtla, Villahermosa, Campeche, Merida, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Cancun, Chetumal, Guatamala, and Costa Rica
Territory of Northern Mexico
There are currently 210 Legionaries of Christ priests, deacons, and seminarians in the Territory of Northern Mexico.
We have communities in Tijuana, Mexicali, Ciudad Juarez, Sonora, Chihuahua, Piedras Negras, Nuevo Laredo, Saltillo, Monterrey, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Mazatlan, Durango, Torreon, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Tampico, San Luis Potisi, Leon, Bajilo, and Guadalajara.
Territory of Brazil
There are currently 62 Legionaries of Christ priests, deacons, and seminarians in the Territory of Brazil as of December 31, 2023.
We have communities in Porto Alegre, Joinville, Curitiba, São Paulo, Itapecerica da Serra, São José dos Campos, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasilia.
Delegations
Rome Delegation
The Rome Delegation consists of the Legionaries at the General Directorate and International College of the Legionaries of Christ in Rome, Italy. It is made up of 2 Legionary bishops, 130 priests, and 126 brothers in formation. The Rome Delegation also oversees the work of the Legionaries of Christ in Hong Kong.
Holy Land Delegation
The Legionaries of Christ operate the Notre Dame de Jerusalem Center in Jerusalem, and the Magdala Center in Migdal, Israel. 10 Legionaries of Christ are currently in residence in the Holy Land.
