From Missionary to Mission Builder: Cailee Hamblen’s Journey Comes Full Circle
When Cailee Hamblen was a young girl, her parents made a bold investment—not just in travel and tickets, but in faith. They brought Cailee and her siblings beyond their local Regnum Christi circle to experience the wider spiritual family.
“I met people at those events who remain my friends today,” Cailee recalls. “I remember thinking I was part of something BIG. Those fun memories of a wider Catholic community helped me so much throughout my youth. It helped me think big and dream of the mission God had for me.”
Those early experiences lit a fire in her heart for mission.
“I did an ECYD Missionary Program the summer I was 14. That inspired me to serve with NET (National Evangelization Teams) for two years. Those ‘big-picture’ moments made me open to going out and sharing the faith—and loving it! Events like Unite the Family, Ignite the Mission also helped prepare the rest of my family to live with that same mission-minded spirit.”
Now, Cailee is seeing it all from the other side—as administrator on the planning committee for this year’s Unite the Family – Ignite the Mission, happening August 1–3.
“It’s exciting to know I’m helping people from across the U.S. experience the beauty of this spiritual family. I think about the young people this event could impact—just like I was impacted when I was younger. And I’m also excited for the seasoned members of Regnum Christi and their friends who will have a chance to reconnect!”
Working alongside a diverse team has only deepened her excitement.
“Our team includes people of all ages—some with years of experience in Regnum Christi and others who are loyal friends of our spiritual family and want to see this weekend become a gift to everyone. Each one is giving the best of themselves. That kind of joy is contagious. Being together will help all of us ‘catch that missionary zeal and the joy of building the Kingdom together.’
Whenever we gather, there’s this instant sense of family and home. All are welcome.”
