March 1, 2024, Calgary, Canada – at 7:30 am Mountain Time on March 1st, 2024, Legionary of Christ, Father John Gannon was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police in partnership with the Calgary Police Service. Father Gannon was charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation, which was alleged to have occurred in 2007 and 2008, and released.
Father Gannon has the right to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty and he denies any wrongdoing.
Out of respect for the judicial system’s process, the Legionaries of Christ will not comment further on the case while the investigation is ongoing.
