Fr. Shawn Aaron shares a Year in Review
As the 2022 year draws to a close, the Territorial Director of Legionaries of Christ shared some insight of the past year in a “Year in Review” discussion.
On Monday, February 6th, Fr. Shawn Aaron, LC, and Fr. John Bartunek, LC discussed the status of the Legionaries of Christ, their mission, and their role in the Regnum Christi Federation. Fr. Shawn shared that the Legionaries have 6 brothers who are on internship, as well as 44 brothers in the house of formation in Cheshire. He also spoke about the top highlights of 2022 which were the Regnum Christi community gathering at Cheshire, the territorial convention at Mundel University in Chicago, and the new chaplaincy at Duke University. Fr. Shawn shared the challenges and struggles behind the Legionaries of Christ vocations, in addition to the charism that Regnum Christi has to offer society and those discerning.
Fr. Shawn finished his reflection with the territorial strategy and transformative power in our charism, united with our desire to, “ ignite the heart of the apostle who will see the needs of the church, the needs of society and then discern through the lens of our charism, and step boldly in that mission.”
